The Process

Every story begins differently, depending on the person you wish to honour and the memories you would like to preserve.

Remembering someone you love

You may choose to preserve the story of someone from your own perspective — a parent, grandparent, partner, teacher, lifelong friend, or another person whose presence has been important in your life — gathering together the moments, conversations and influences that have stayed with you over the years.

Often, these stories explore things that were deeply felt but never fully articulated at the time: gratitude for the role they played in your life, admiration for their values and strengths, or memories from childhood and early adulthood that continue to remain vivid long afterwards.

Together, these memories form a portrait not only of the person being remembered, but also of the relationship itself and how it quietly shaped your life.

Preserving their own voice

With their consent, the conversations may also take place directly with the person at the centre of the story themselves, allowing their memories, experiences and personal history to unfold in their own voice and at their own pace.

These stories often revolve around moments, relationships or periods of life that shaped how they came to see the world — experiences through which certain values, understandings and ways of living gradually took root over time.

For many, the process becomes a way of passing those things on clearly and meaningfully to the people they love.

Each story is developed through one chosen narrative perspective, allowing its emotional focus to emerge with clarity and depth.

The Conversations

Writing and Keepsake

Before we begin, a private online consultation is arranged.

This first conversation is an opportunity to discuss:

  • who the story is for

  • what has drawn you to preserve it now

  • whether there are already memories or themes that feel important to begin with

It is also a chance to ask questions, talk through the process in more detail, and decide together how we will move forward.

The story is explored through three private conversations, each lasting around ninety minutes with a short break in between. They may take place online or in person, with in-person meetings currently available across Berkshire, Central London and selected surrounding areas.

The conversations are usually spaced one to two weeks apart, allowing further thoughts to settle naturally between them. They are designed to feel personal, comfortable and free from pressure. There is no need to arrive with a clear structure or fully formed narrative already in mind. Some people come with memories they have carried for years; others simply begin with a person, a relationship or a feeling they wish to explore further.

The conversations remain entirely private and are guided gently at a pace that feels comfortable for the person sharing them.

Toward the end of the first conversation, we will also decide together how the story should be told, including the perspective and pronouns that feel most natural and emotionally true to the person at its centre.

Throughout and following the conversations, what has been shared is brought together into a coherent written narrative.

Once completed, a digital copy is presented for review before the final version is professionally printed as a keepsake designed to be held onto, revisited and cherished.

The conversational and writing process is usually completed over four to six weeks. Following this, printed keepsakes are prepared separately and may require additional production and delivery time.

If the piece is intended for a particular occasion or date, this can always be discussed in advance during the initial consultation.

Investment

The complete process is currently offered at a founding rate of £800. This includes three private conversations, narrative composition, digital delivery, and professionally printed keepsakes.

As Nemora continues to develop, future offerings will begin from £1000+. To allow this early stage of the practice to remain personal and thoughtfully developed, only a small number of founding clients will be taken on at the current rate.

The initial online consultation is always provided without charge before any commitment is made.
